Tables and Ladders and Chairs, OH MY!

This past saturday, April 5th 2008, I was involved in a match that placed me and my tag team partner in EGW, Superstar Cody Adams, (together we are known as the Impact Superstars) against our arch rivals Brandon Harris and Cypher Phoenix (known as Equal Justice) in a fued-ending TLC match.

In the match, we had some great wrestling, also some violence and as usual with TLC matches, some blood. The blood started after I grabbed a ladder to spin around and clear house, well, as I turned, there was a Harris chair shot meeting me. The lip of the chair caught the back of my head, and voila, blood. At first I thought it was either a goose egg on the top of my head or possibly bleeding. I did what other workers do and ‘pump it out’ just in case it was bleeding. I opened my eyes and there were a few blood drops so I figured, I’d have Harris knuckle me open later, well as I sat up, the blood ran down my face and realized, I’m bleeding pretty good. By the end of the match I was lightheaded and bloody, but I loved it, mainly because I had retribution later in the match as I got the cheese grater and proceeded to whack Harris in the head and scrape it on his head. Of course, there was blood.

Anyways, I took a German onto two unfolded chairs and took a spinebuster through a table. Cody Adams took Cypher out with a 450 from the top of the ladder through the table as I gave a Blaze-chair-to (frog splash with a chair under and on top of the head) to Harris. Needles to say, we won and became two time EGW Tag Team Champions.

As I look back, it was a great thing that I started to bleed because it gave more to the match. It gave more realism to the match, that was there to begin with, and then most of all, it’s true that the sight of your own blood gives you more of an edge. I loved the match, and I thank everyone involved with the match. I was told by the ref of the match, Zack Carlucci, that it was one of those matches where it was hard to ref because you wanted to watch. All in all, great match, great entertainment, and once again, on top of the world!
