As a student of history, I feel lucky to have seen first hand two historic moments in one week.
First: The Phillies winning the World Series (even though I’m more of a Red Sox fan if I can sit still long enough for baseball) while I was home. Phans celebrated Philly style by taking to the streets and breaking storefront windows. Yay.
And secondly: our new President. It’s hard to believe that just a little over a decade ago, my high school prom in Alabama was segregated. The Black prom on Friday night, White prom on Saturday night. My father had gotten stationed there after we moved from Philadelphia. But, what a week! Regardless of one’s politics, the success of Obama is amazing and inspirational.
As exciting as it all has been — and it HAS been very interesting — I’m glad this election is over. I detest the negative ads, robo calls and non-stop political news. Like you, I am very much looking forward to when we can start getting ourselves fixed and hope we start truly observing the Constitution. I feel relieved, hopeful
and cautious. Even though the election is over, I think it is our job to stay aware of what’s going on in America and in the world. Thank you for the fun debates and I hope we can all still love each other now that it’s past November 4th. For now, it’s just so nice to get back to the plethora of peaceful, positive television ads
for legalized pharmaceuticals.

It’s been a shoot-tastic month.

(OK, enough “shoot” word mixes. I promise.) I had my crazy nudie photo pictorial extravaganza in Indiana last week for M. Rock Style. (See pic samples above.)
It’s usually not a photo shoot unless you’re either freezing your tits off or sweating your makeup off. That’s why being in a studio is much more pleasant. Yeah, you still sweat under the hot lights (and might get a bit blinded from them too), but it’s not as dramatic. Nor do you find yourself kneeling on a sharp rock, fending off (oft scandalized) curious onlookers or crouched in two-degree water at a beach shoot trying to look sexy instead of in shock and pain.
This time I opted for a dressing room rather than a quick change behind the car, plumbing instead of peeing under mosquito filled foliage and having beautiful makeup artist Merika spritz me down with water every so often rather than oiling up and having dirt stick to my butt crevasse. What a tough day at the office! (I love my job.)
My model friend emailed me from Australia last night: “Is that an M. Rock photo? Hot! I used that rug too!”
If only that rug could talk
By “extravaganza,” I mean I have over two thousand new pictures to sort through, send out and update with now. I’d lugged in two massive suitcases. Poor Merika hung everything up and organized my outfits when I arrived,
which I promptly destroyed in zero time flat. Lace and pleather was strewn explosively, accentuated by 6-inch heels and satin garters. Thank you for all the ideas; I did use many of them, including Red Sonja (that turned out wicked cool), a Catholic school girl [Todd, my (Catholic) photographer seemed to really dig that one quite a bit, but I'm sure it was just coincidence
], wet sauna (in white see through undies), Wonder Woman revisited (loved this!), Xxx-mas (one of my faves ), cheerleader, 1st amendment (patriotic & very neat), autumn nights, orange crush (can anyone do orange better than redheads?) plus lots and lots and lots of hot lacey lingerie.
Thank you especially to those of you who have given me Victoria’s Secret or Amazon gift certificates — the gift that keeps on giving — since I wore (and check your inbox for the private photos) things I bought from there courtesy of YOU.
Right after the pin up shoot, I flew to Philly to see my mom and Gram, who is still sick and doing so-so, but it was great to spend some time with them.
Ma had that bronchitis-cold thing going around, so I spent much of the week making tea, cooking and cajoling everyone into taking vitamins. (So, I really can be a Nurse Fuxallot. In reality, though, it was Nurse Fuxtulittel.) I also snuck off for a day and worked with TruTV on a show called Most Daring/Most Shocking, which should be out soon.
After a few days Mom and I hit the art museum between the Phillies winning and their looting spree
….. erm, I mean parade. I’d heard it was one of the top 3 museums in America. Note: don’t go to an art museum in a liberated city like Paris, and then expect the museums here to be as scintillating. Apparently the only boobies allowed into this building had to belong to the gods, since most of the art seemed to be religious, and the breasts were that of Venus, Devi and other goddesses. After the 65th depiction of Venus (always hanging on to the baby Cupid) or the 9765th rendition of the Christ crucifixion, you start looking around desperately for the naughty nude Matisse art. Instead of sculpted bush, early Dutch tile was featured along with some sexy early Colonial furniture. Oh, you just KNOW there was some hot lovin’ on those hard, wooden benches.
But we got a picture with Rocky, which made it all worth it. Yo, Rockaaaayyy!
I also had a photo shoot with a brand new photographer. Which I will occasionally do for fun if they seem talented. And she was. (More in my diary if you’re a Member. And loads of sneak peek pix, too!)
To He who recommended author David Foster Wallace, thank you. Consider The Lobster = good stuff! I’m considering footnotes to my newsletters from now on, thanks to this. Just kidding. A big thank you to Flower Man, whose lovely buds really perked my Gram up. And thank you to ChuckFlix, who kept me up to date with the Entourage & True Blood I missed.
If I’ve yet to get back to your email, please bear with me. Or better yet, resend. My western Canada tour next week was cancelled . JD Maverick (formerly Michaels) went up, along with Al Snow, Shannon Moore & Lance Storm, but we gash (yup, that’s wrestling speak for girls) were cancelled off the show (damn economy), so I’ll be able to get caught up on some web work, merchandise orders and updates.
