December 31st Newswire
December 31st: Bryan Danielson and Jerry Lynn put on an absolute clinic in Philadelphia at All Star Extravaganza IV, with Danielson securing the pinfall by ever the slightest of margins. Now, both competitors have agreed to do it again, and it will take place in Edison on January 17. Dragon is fresh off his long-awaited victory over Takeshi Morishima in NY, while Lynn has his sights undeniably set on Nigel McGuinness. In any event, this match is worth the price of admission alone!
December 31st: ROH Officials aren’t blind to the events that took place in New York that led up to Tyler Black losing the match to determine the Number One Contender to the ROH World Title. With those circumstances in mind, the ROH Booking Committee was decided to give Tyler Black another chance to earn a title shot. In Manassas on January 16, Tyler Black will face Nigel McGuinness in a non-title match. Keep in mind this will take pace 24 hours before Black faces Jimmy Jacobs in 2009’s first grudge match!
December 31st: We now know that the American Wolves of Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards will be in tag team action in both Manassas and Edison. On 1/16 in Manassas, the Wolves will face a measure of retribution as they will face Jay Briscoe and a partner of his choosing! We all know that Jay will be looking to exact revenge on Sweeney’s Wolves for pushing Mark Briscoe’s knee injury over the edge. We’ll announce Jay’s partner as soon as we find out right here in the Newswire!
December 31st: Speaking of Jay Briscoe, his contract for Edison on January 17 has been signed by a most unlikely opponent. Chris Escobar is relatively unknown to ROH fans, but that apparently hasn’t deterred him from stepping up and trying to prove what he’s made of. “I have nothing but respect for the Briscoes”, said Escobar. “But my opportunity may only come once. And I plan to make the most of it.”
December 31st: As seen in the most recent ROH Video Wire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeaQlDizs2Y, ROH President Cary Silkin has made it official. After countless run-in attacks and blatant outside interference, it seems that enough is enough. On January 31 in Chicago, Sweet-n-Sour Incorporated will face the test that they’ve escaped thus far: THE STEEL CAGE. Brent Albright and crew have been chomping at the bit in asking for this match for some time now, and finally it will happen, and it will happen on Pay-Per-View! You don’t want to miss this one; we’ll have reaction from both sides as we move closer to January 31!
December 31st: The End of Year Sale has been extended for one final time, until Friday morning. Details on the sale are on the main page at www.rohwrestling.com. Happy New Year’s everybody. We’ll see you in 2009.
