The 1st Tournament Match Has Been Made For KING OF TRIOS 2009!
Yo and Hello, CHIKARAphiles! With last Thursday’s announcement of “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson as the final component in the giant wrestling contraption that we’re calling KING OF TRIOS 2009, the REAL fun can officially start. We’ve got 48 of the most diverse and talented competitors under one roof on one night (Night One is the ONLY night you’ll see all 48!) and now – we get to sit back and watch them get paired off by random selection and see what kind of amazing match-ups fate will bring to us. This morning was the first of 8 gatherings at the jumbo tumbler, and to kick things off, probablity has given us…
An inter-promotional fray as representatives from Minnesota’s F1RST Wrestling taking on the triumvirate of talents carrying the flag of California’s EPIC WAR on their shoulders. But even bigger than a battle for promotional supremacy, this match pits 6 of the most athletic entrants in the tournament against each other. We’ve been in communication with Arik Cannon and The North Star Express (they answer emails together, the sign of a true tag team) and none of them are content to just come in and “steal the show” but walk away empty handed, they want the KING OF TRIOS 2009 crown and they don’t care who they have to beat to get it. And luckily for the F1RST Family, that’s exactly the attitude their going to need when they square off with Austin Aries, Tony Kozina, and Ryan Drago, a seemingly odd collection of talent, but three individuals who all possess unique and dangerous skill sets, and a team that could shock the world if they can find their cohesion on NIGHT ONE of KOT2009.
Can the Aries/Kozina/Drago triumvirate bring an EPIC WAR to KING OF TRIOS and leave the F1RST Family out in the cold for the 2nd year in a row? Or will the Twin Cities trio make their California counterparts into the first step on the long climb to the summit of the wrestling world?
