Barbarian Coming to Lewisburg

On June 13, 2009, former WCW Tag Team Champion, The Barbarian, will be making his debut for the middle Tennessee based company.

Growing up in Tonga, Barbarian was one of five teenagers sent by the King of Tonga to study Sumo wrestling in Japan in the mid-1970s. Soon after, he migrated to the United States where he started wrestling in Memphis as King Konga. Later wrestling worldwide including tours in Japan and Puerto Rico, he started teaming up with the Warlord becoming a member of the Powers of Pain. This powerful tag team dominated in World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling. Barbarian would soon tag with Haku and became the tag team the Faces of Fear.

The former Headshrinker will be making his way ringside to face off against ASW’s own Mikey Dunn on Saturday, June 13, 2009, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, for All-Star Wrestling.

“The great people at Century 21 and Action Tents will be sponsoring this event to continue to bring wrestling legends to the great fans of Lewisburg,” says Dunn. “The Barbarian will bring strength and power to the ring, along with the proud history and heritage of the Tongan people.”

Other matches include: The Sharp Dressed Man Lawrence vs. “Impressive” Anthony Wayne; Top Gun vs. Brawler Mark and more, including Dangerously Sexy’s Yukon Jack and Doug Harrison.

All-Star Wrestling is located at 2224 Mooresville Highway in Lewisburg, with tickets being available at the door. Tickets are $7 for adults and children under 5 are free.
