Updated Press Release
JWA-United Wrestling proudly presents “The Cornucopia Clash: Thanks For Nothing!†this Saturday, November 14 at the VFW Hall in Sayreville, New Jersey (across from The Starland Ballroom) with a 7:30 p.m. belltime.
.
.
Doors will open at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are available for the special low price of just $10.
In the main event, on the heels of their victory over former champions Camron Shaft & Bobby Youngblood, The Big Unit ’09 will defend the JWA-United World Tag Team Title against The Vicious Cycles in a rematch on November 14. History was made earlier this month when Rick Silver, along with Kristy Kiss and the team of Just G & Rob Fury, recreated The Big Unit. Now, without the element of surprise on their side, will they be able to retain their newly-won belts, or will Shaft & Youngblood once again reign supreme? Don’t miss The Cornucopia Clash to find out!
A special Four Corners Match to determine the new Number One Contender to the JWA-United World Championship, currently held by The “Diabolical One†Joe Rules, will take place in Sayreville. There will be six participants in the match. Two will start the bout in the ring, with the remaining wrestlers stationed in each corner. Participants will tag in and out, and whenever a wrestler is pinned, submits, is counted out or disqualified, he is eliminated from the contest. The last man standing will get a shot at the JWA-United World Championship at our next event.
The “Strongest Man In The World†Dave Patera has just been added to this match. Although this will be his JWA debut, Dave Patera is quite the ring veteran, having competed for organizations such as Pennsylvania Championship Wrestling and the United Wrestling Coalition. And he’s dealt with Joe Rules before when the two feuded in PCW. Dave Patera came out on top in that feud, and he goes into bout with the knowledge that if he can become the Number One Contender, he’s defeated the World Champion before.
The first contender to be signed for this match was “Textbook†Philly Madison. No stranger to JWA-United, Madison is a former World Tag Team Champion (with Max Gaeta), winning the belts in 2005 from the combination of The “Maniacal†Hubie Volk & Cerenzio, before losing them to the team of Bill Ding & Chocolate Boy Wonder. Philly Madison was previously managed by reigning World Champion Joe Rules, but his contract has been purchased by none other than Jack Paris!
Also competing will be Big Bear Borselli. The Bear made a huge impact in his JWA debut this past July on The Battleship New Jersey. He defeated Kevin Cunningham in impressive fashion with a huge spear, and that was enough for The Championship Committee to insert him into this Number One Contenders Match.
However, once Kevin Cunningham heard that Big Bear Borselli was involved, The “Pompous Prep†demanded that he get a shot also! The arrogant youngster will not only avenge his loss to Bear Borselli but also get a future shot at The JWA-United World Title if he can emerge victorious on November 14.
The two remaining participants in the Number One Contenders Four Corners Match will be announced shortly.
At our last event, after Bill Ding lost his UWF World Title, he snapped! He attacked Referee George Pinaha, layed out several wrestlers, and even went after the ring announcer. The ring announcer happened to be Major D. Kline, the wife of none other than Section 8. Before things got ugly, Section 8, armed with a 2×4 and backup from “Rowdy†Bobby Piper and Dan Rageous, hit the ring. The former champ let her go, but not before proclaiming: “Bill Ding is dead. We are The Legion!â€
This can all be seen in the following YouTube clip:Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcpL1TxIzaA
Section 8 will defend his wife’s honor against the former Bill Ding this Saturday at The Cornucopia Clash.
Brian Mitchell Foster once again defends his American Championship against Dan Rageous. The last time these two met, things got too hot for BMF, so he just grabbed his title belt and ran. Dan Rageous won the match via countout, but a championship can only change hands by pinfall or submission. Rageous demanded his rematch, and he may just have Foster’s number! “November 14? That’s my birthday weekend,†Dan Rageous told JWA officials. “Winning the American Title would be the best present ever!â€
Ever since her sister Della Morte went on a cross country hiatus from wrestling, JWA-United Women’s Champion Taylor Nicole Rules has been on the lookout for a substitute tag team partner. And did she ever find one! At The Cornucopia Clash, TNR joins forces with “Pryme Tyme†AmyLee! The two ladies have signed on open contract to take on any team, male or female. As of press time, no one has yet signed on the dotted line, and we can’t say we blame them….
In a battle of two newcomers to JWA-United Wrestling, The Creek Walker will take on Big Brother Ron. Not much is known about these two, but we can tell you that they are both grizzled veterans, and this should prove to be a hotly contested match. Make sure you’re in Sayreville on November 14 to witness it.
In a rematch from our last event, The Staten Island Wrecking Crew (Erik Kreed & T-Bonz) with their manager Jack Paris will once again square off with The Canucks (Chris Banks & J.T. Highlander.)Â The SIWC defeated the popular Canadian duo thanks to some interference by Jack Paris, but will lightning strike twice this Saturday?
Also scheduled to appear: “Pizza Boy†Johnny Calzone, Angel, Radical Robby Morrison, Mike Matixx, the return of Indian Warrior Draven and HollyHood, a special appearance by JWA-United World Champion Joe Rules, plus more surprises!
More bouts will be announced soon. Remember, JWA-United Wrestling returns Saturday evening, November 14 at the VFW Post 4699, 575 Jernee Mill Road, Sayreville, NJ 08872.
