Mama McChesney Knows Best.

Mrs. Susan McChesney, John’s ‘Fabulous’ mom shares these intimate thoughts on John’s interest in becoming a wrestler during the early years:

“John was a very shy child, yet he always was a great athlete. He participated in all sports all through school. He went to a boys’ private prep school with baseball as his top priority. By his junior year I began to hear things breaking late at night out in the garage. I would ask him about it and he would tell me that he and his friends were just playing around. In his senior year I heard through the grapevine that he had put on somewhat of a show at school during an assembly and it involved wrestling.

“John went on to college, and by his second year he told his father and I that he wanted to leave school and pursue a wrestling career. I am not sure we agreed,  however we supported him. He was so determined, and a very good wrestler. His father Dr. McChesney was a very good athlete. He wrestled and was a gymnast in high school, Allegheny College, and the U. of Michigan. So he comes by it naturally. We are very proud of him.”

IWC A Call to Arms 5 2009: After being called out before their scheduled match time by Dennis Gregory, John returned the favor. Holding the very shirt he wore when he first confronted Gregory as a fan some ten years ago, McChesney promised to shove it down Gregory’s throat and prove Gregory to be a “bum.” When Gregory emerged, McChesney, not about to let Gregory’s screwdriver attack happen once again, had a plan. With a roll of quarters in hand, The Fabulous One delivered a knockout punch, and let the fans count his unofficial pin fall over the former 5-time champion. Gregory’s assertion that McChesney will always be a follower and not a leader certainly didn’t ring true on this night as McChesney went one step further proving HE was the true reason for success in Gregory’s War Machine.

Last year during Firestorm Pro’s Something to Die For 2008
Michael “the Deviant” Hutter was crowned the first ever Undisputed Firestorm Pro Heavyweight Champion. Shortly thereafter he had to vacate the title upon being signed to a WWE developmental contract. This opened the way for McChesney to challenge for and then win that coveted title in a tournament. Since then he has become so obsessed in his wrestling endeavors that he has embarked on a crusade to take total control of the direction of Firestorm Pro.

March 30, 2009, at Rocky Road High School  IWC: Fabulous John McChesney defeated the 350+ pound confidante of Ray Rowe, Shane Taylor, despite the active presence of Rowe and our promoter at ringside. McChesney also had telling choice words for our promoter, telling him, “He didn’t make me, I made myself.” It’s clear that now, more than ever, the old John McChesney has returned, just in time for the very event that catapulted him to superstardom. Can John McChesney be the first man in history to win 2 Super Indy Tournaments as part of the biggest Super Indy ever?

July 10, 2009 at the Phantasy Theater: John had teammate Sassy Stephanie signed to wrestle Miss Vickie Gambino in a match that The Sassy One ultimately won. This match was in retaliation for Vickie’s decision to leave Big League teammate J Rocc and escort the Aftermath to the ring and stand by him during his matches.

Some locker room insiders have said that McChesney was partly responsible for the breakup of the partnership between Miss Vickie and J Rocc, and as a result the Aftermath (Vickie’s newest love interest) was booked to oppose Team Big League at War Games. In addition, McChesney demanded that Sassy Stephanie be allowed to wrestle Vickie prior to the critical main event cage match to eliminate her and to keep her from assisting the Aftermath during War Games.  During that main event cage match when it was John’s turn to enter the cage, he appeared a little leery at first but once he got into the ring he brought with him a chain which he immediately began using on Team Firestorm members. McChesney gave 110% of his effort and tried everything he could think of to keep the title. It was a bloodbath for many, and the brutal melee had just too many combat ready participants raging with fury for him to keep up with it all. In the end Ray Rowe reigned victorious as the new Undisputed Firestorm Pro Champion with his valet/fiancé Samantha Ann by his side.

McChesney was furious but vowed to return with an even more sinister plan, leaving the cage with a pile of bodies lying atop a broken table on the arena floor.

Shortly thereafter, Ray Rowe laid Fabulous out in August, 2009, during No Excuses 5 after McChesney was cheated out of the IWC World Heavyweight Title.

In Clearfield in October, 2009, McChesney gained a measure of revenge as he and Jimmy DeMarco teamed with the legendary “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka to defeat Ray Rowe, Shane Taylor, and J-Rocc.

McChesney continues his war against the Cleveland Mafia this Saturday as he takes on the 300+ lb. Shane Taylor November 14, 2009.

Sassy Stephanie Comments:

“McChesney never stole me away from honesty and integrity. He offered me a very nice deal and ever since, Team Big League has been unstoppable.  Between John, Shane, and myself we wrestle at some of the most respected places in the country. We’re so mean to the fans because they simply don’t respect the talent that we possess.”

“I’ve wrestled twice for ROH.  Shane is a regular at IWC.  Colin makes sure we always have the best places to wrestle for and top talent to wrestle.”

I will admit, there is a peculiar presence whenever Big League enters the arena floor. Fans get riled up and usually start to hoot and holler as its members individually or collectively make their way to the ring.

Shane Taylor is the big powerhouse of your group. I’ve seen him literally manhandle his opponents into oblivion with power moves and a near-rabid tenacity.

As we close this article Stephanie had these additional comments for us, “McChesney has been seen on WWE, how many times now? In addition, John has worked cards for TNA Wrestling among many other top federations. He is simply Fabulous.”
