After an action packed and historic January show, SPW promises to keep bringing the goods at the 2nd show of 2010. Here is what you can expect to see…
First off, The West Coast Dragons became the #1 contenders to the SPW Tag Team Titles by winning a 4 team elimination match which also included Big and Tasty, The Kruze Brothers and the team of Jody Kristofferson and Larry Blackwell in January. The final elimination of the match occurred when Malachi got himself DQed for refusing to break on a 5-count and roughing up the referee. Because of the outcome of the match, SPW Commissioner El Flaco Loco decided that a match between the two final teams of Big and Tasty and The West Coast Dragons be signed for February, with the winners becoming #1 contenders to The Reno Scum’s SPW Tag Team Titles.
After the Hair vs. Dress match in January, which saw Rik Luxury win and cut the hair off of El Chupacabra, Rik made his intentions clear that he was done with El Chupacabra, and that his new goal was to qualify for, and win The Supreme Double Hell Challenge. At the end of the show in January, he issued an open challenge to anyone in the SPW locker room for a one-on-one match in which the winner will qualify for the biggest match in SPW history, the Supreme Double Hell Challenge at SPW’s 10 Year Anniversary. Shortly after, the challenge was accepted by Samurai. Although neither man has won the Supreme Double Hell Challenge, both have gone to a full 7 matches in the Supreme Seven Series. On February 21st, Samurai and Rik Luxury will look to take their first step toward a return to the Supreme Seven Series, at the expense of one another.
In January, Mike Rayne was able to not only regain the SPW Extreme Title but also to save his SPW Career by beating Mike Hayashi in a Last Man Standing Match. Rayne’s previous reign as Extreme Champion saw him take on any and all comers, and earn the respect to be called a true fighting champion. Now that he is once again Extreme Champion, he is looking to once again prove to be a fighting champion, by putting his title on the line against SPW Legend Cjay Kurse. This will not be a match that you will want to miss…
And finally, in the main event. Last month, Timothy Thatcher was able to defend the SPW Title against Bobby Hart by lifting his shoulder to prevent a double pin literally a split second before the referee counted to three. Bobby Hart was upset about the outcome, as he has always wanted to hold the SPW Title, and last month was his first shot at the title. However as we had pointed out, Bobby Hart had beaten Thatcher two months straight leading into January, and SPW Commissioner El Flaco Loco felt that it was only fair that on February 21st that Bobby Hart get another shot at the SPW Title. Whenever these two men wrestle each other, you are guaranteed to see a hard hitting, technical classic. Look for more of the same outstanding wrestling from these two on Febraury 21st.
Also appearing: Mike Hayashi, El Chupacabra (with a new haircut), The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Kruze Brothers, Drake Frost and many many more….
