February 16th: EVOLVE and DGUSA officials are in the final stages of putting together the complete lineups for WrestleCon. The phone is ringing off the hook at the office with several wrestlers petitioning for the matches that they want. Here’s a few things that have been discussed:
-Tickets for EVOLVE on April 5th, DGUSA on April 6th and DGUSA on April 7th are now available at or by calling 267-519-9744. Only a few good ringside remain so don’t hesitate.
-The traditional six man tag team match will take place at the DGUSA event on April 7th. There are several ideas being bounced around to make it different from previous years.
-CIMA & AR Fox will defend the Open The United Gate Titles on the April 6th event. This means April 6th will have two title matches.
-Rich Swann continues to call out high-flyers. DGUSA & EVOLVE is “home of the high-flyers.” Look for a High-Flyers FRAY! to be added to one of the DGUSA shows.
-There will be at least two non-tournament tag team matches added to the EVOLVE event on April 5th.
-Jon Davis (5-4) has officially been added to the EVOLVE Title Tournament. The seeding and brackets will be finalized and announced this week. There is a lot of debate on whether Davis at 5-4 or Rich Swann at 3-2 should be the #4 seed. There is a big difference between the #4 and #5. The #5 seed will be entered into the Freestyle Match, which has worse odds for advancing. The #4 seed will wrestle AR Fox in the first round.
-We all know Shingo is returning to challenge Open The Freedom Gate Champion Johnny Gargano on April 6th. DGUSA officials are currently heavily debating on who Shingo should wrestle on the April 7th event. They want to give him the best opponent possible. Ricochet, Sami Callihan, Akira Tozawa and Jon Davis are all being discussed. Who do you want to see Shingo wrestle on April 7th? Give us your opinion on Twitter or Facebook.
-We are all very excited about the return of Uhaa Nation. He reports that his knee is “feeling great” and he is ready to be “thrown right into the fire.”
-Akira Tozawa has open contracts for April 6th and April 7th. DGUSA officials are looking to put him in the best possible matches on both days since he is one of the most outstanding wrestlers in the world.
-Brian Kendrick has set up a conference call with EVOLVE/DGUSA officials for this Monday. He says he has something he wants to talk about concerning WrestleCon.
We are done teasing you. The lineups will be finalized in the next few days. Then we will report all the huge match announcements right here in the WWNLive Alerts.
Valkyrie, the most dangerous stable in women’s wrestling, will be at full force when SHINE returns to action on February 22nd. Watch Allysin Kay, Taylor Made & April Hunter of Valkyrie vs. Mia Yim, Tracy Taylor & Su Yung on live iPPV by clicking the above graphic.
