All The Angles—Remembering Chyna

– John Willett

They met in 1996; one from Nashua, NH, one from Rochester NY. Little did they know that their meeting would change both of their lives forever. Paul Michael Levesque and Joan Marie Laurer are two stark symbols of what the business of wrestling can do both for you, and to you.

Grappler’s journey through the world of professional wrestling

– Mike Mooneyham

Just a few short years into his career, Len Denton was ready to hang up his wrestling boots.

The money wasn’t particularly good, the traveling was grueling and his career just wasn’t talking off the way he had planned.

Tired of doing jobs for hard-nosed promoters and with little monetary reward to show for it, Denton decided to give the business one last shot in the Carolinas.

All the Angles – Saturday Morning Slam

– John Willett

OK. WWE Saturday Morning Coffee Klatch is a kid’s show; 30 minutes long; and its main purpose is so that I’ll see Damien Sandow, Daniel Bryan, and Cesaro THREE (3) times in one week. No Dirty Dutch, though, so that was a plus!

All The Angles – Smackdown

– John Willett

If it’s Friday night, it’s Oklahoma City,  it must be…   THE VOG telling me what happened Monday night! Hold it now; so there are no more split crews? One big happy dysfunctional WWE family? Well, this makes my life a touch easier. We also learn from the VOG that The Shield angle has been progressing down the same well trod path as the Aces & Eights; I just happen to catch it on the night Orton does the run-in and swerves the curve slightly. I also learn that it’s Social Media Smackdown, and every single person in the ENTIRE WORLD can participate in tonight’s festivities! And then it’s Michael Cole, Josh Mathews (from the very first  Tough Enough, which I remember watching), and a special visit from The King (which signals to me that Jerry’s gonna get involved somehow in a brouhaha).

ALL THE ANGLES – 8 YEARS LATER
WE HAVE A WINNER!! In my last column, I asked for info surrounding a wrestler who had a porn star gimmick, who’s finishing move was “The Money Shot.” Chris Monaco, of Naugatuck, CT, not only knew the wrestler’s name, VAL VENIS (real name: Sean Morley), he also knew that I placed him in the wrong organization (he was WWF, NOT WCW), and that The Patriot was supposed to do that angle, but demurred. Chris goes by “Evil Zebra”  ‘cause he’s a heel ref! Congratulations, Chris; a Man Store of Bar Harbor mug will be headed your way!

ALL THE ANGLES-8 years later

Jiffy Pop Popcorn? Check. Diet Coke with Lime? Check. Oreo Multi-Stuff Cookies (chocolate AND vanilla goo in the middle)? Check.

Well, then…….  LET’S WATCH SOME WRASSLING!

We are LIVE…  NO! No cold opening! Instead, a tri-testicular VOG (Voice of God) attempts to explain how Vince McMahon, Paul Heyman, and Brock Lesnar ended up in the same ring at the same time; and how all this turned out badly for Vinnie Boy. (ASIDE TO READERS—I know these guys! All of them! Even Heyman, who used to be a wrestling writer, then became Manager Paul E. Dangerously, THEN started and drove into the ground the groundbreaking ECW!)

ALL THE ANGLES — 8 Years Later
By John Willett

Hi. I’ve missed you. Remember me?

For those of you who don’t, I’m John Willett; I used to write a column entitled  “All The Angles” for the predecessor of this website. Your Beloved Editor, Karen Belcher, used to write one under the nom de plume, “ Jerzy Girl.”

She and I used to be members of the “Gang of Four” with two other columnists, Bobby Storm and Matt Bergen. We used to appear in each other’s columns, wreaked havoc in others, and made life miserable for Arnie, the then editor.
