Remembering Buck Robley – His First Booking Job
– Dory Funk Jr.


On Sunday June 17th, 1973, Terry and I were setting in the dressing room in Clovis, New Mexico trying to figure an attractive card to bring back the next week. The difficulty was that Albuquerque also ran on Sunday night and Albuquerque was the hottest town in the Territory paying big money in cash the night of the show.

Eddie Graham was the owner and genius behind the success of the Florida Territory. The foundation of his territory was built on wrestling and credibility of the wrestlers who worked for him. If you wanted to break into the wrestling business in Florida, You had to prove yourself as a wrestler first.
